If you post with Blogger, you may have noticed that I’ve not commented in the past 24 hours. I want you all to know that I’m not not reading, I’ve not fallen off the face of the planet, and I am not boycotting Blogger.
Blogger, it seems, is boycotting me.
I can’t see the anti-spam codes that have to be entered before one’s comment can be posted. I get the instructions for what to do with the visual verification code, and I get the box into which I’m supposed to type those letters, but I can’t SEE the letters.
I tried refreshing the pages, I tried entering random letters in the hopes that getting the code wrong would prompt it to give me a new code (one that I could see, even!), but, alas; nothing. In a fit of desperation, I’ve sent a note to Blogger to alert them to the problem. I’m not sure that will help, but I had to do something.
It would just be so much nicer if you could all switch to WordPress. They have LOVELY templates (and lots of them), the publishing is easy and reliable, and their support is accessible and friendly; an actual PERSON emails you to discuss your question or problem! There’s spell check that actually works, linking is easy, and managing the look of your blogs is practically effortless. There’s no need for visual verification anti-spam codes, because WordPress filters spam out of your comments automatically.
It’s the promised land, People; I’m tellin’ ya.

Chili, this selfsame issue has been making me nuts since last night, when I tried to leave comments and failed (all the same tricks) because Blogger’s word verification system is bollixed up. Seriously - WordPress is phenomenal. Blogger? Plthththt! (approximates the sound of a raspberry).
blogger did that to me for a couple days a month or so ago. I think someone there just decides to piss people off on some random schedule! blogger HAS been nice to me lately — loads my photos, etc… but I’ll check out wordpress, too!
I fear change, but it just might be time. I think it’s time to check out other options.
If I go to WordPress is my old blog consigned to oblivion?
Not that I ever do a review of my old posts, and I’m reasonably certain no one else does.
Thanks for the comment.
Gerry - I don’t know the answer to that, as I think that the Blogger Beta edition made transferring blogs a bit more complicated. I’ll tell you what; I’ll email my favorite support guy and ask him. I’ll post his answer here, okay?

I had that self-same problem with the Blogger verification codes, and blogged about it on March 1st (title was ‘Shut Out’). I’m glad it wasn’t just happening to me, though that’s a daft thing for me to say - I knew fine it wasn’t just me.
