This past weekend, I figured out how to counterfeit the Olive Garden’s Limoncello lemonade!
I found a knock-off recipe here and I’ve gotta tell ya, it’s pretty darned good. The O’Garden’s version is a little smoother than mine turned out to be, though; I suspect they’ve got a slushy machine at the bar that gives the drink a more even texture than my blender chewing ice cubes could replicate. That doesn’t really matter though; the fact is that my attempt(s) came out quite palatable, chunky ice bits or not.
I’m planning on putting the mix together - the syrup, vodka and limoncello - and keeping it in the freezer; making one or two at a time seems a little fussy, and it’d just be easier to have everything mixed up ahead of time. While I do think the drink is really nice as a slushy, I don’t think I’d turn my nose up at it over plain old, unmolested ice cubes, either, so the blender isn’t really necessary.
My only concern is having this stuff just lying around. It really IS yummy….

That’s how they do it at the Concert Hall. They have a slushie machine with margarita mix and one with daquiri mix. They fill the glass and then add alcohol. You could get a slushie machine but it may raise a few eyebrows.
Trust me, folks, I was there, and this stuff was GOOD!
I’m wondering if it’s worth it to get the slushy machine. Of course, if I DO, I may never be fit to leave the the house…
Try freezing all but the booze and juice in ice cube trays.
We just keep the lemoncello in the freezer and drink it neat.
