Happy New Year, Everyone!!

The Chili family’s plans for New Year’s Eve are to head to Bowyer and Tonks’ place to be together, play the Wii, and order Chinese food. Hopefully, the Falcon and MeadMaker families will be able to join us. I’ll bring champagne for the grownups and sparkling grape juice for the kids.
We’re hoping to catch the New Year in London on the BBC so that we won’t be out too late. We’ve got little kids who can’t make it to midnight anyway and I’m nervous on New Year’s roads; we don’t drink, but that’s not an assurance of our safety. Once we’re home, we’ll put the girls to bed and roust them to watch the NYC ball drop at midnight, we’ll pass around kisses and happy wishes, then we’ll all head back to bed.
Not terribly exciting, I know, but it’s our tradition and we love it.

Not sure I can make it to midnight this year, as sleep was very elusive last night. However, if we do, Geek and I have no great plans, either; yours sound like fun!

I’m tryin’ to stay up… this is the first year we’re letting all of the kids make the attempt (Maggie has to work tomorrow, so it’s up to me to chaperone the kids through ball drop.)

As I write this, we’ve got 22 minutes until I can crawl into my blessed bed. The girls are on the couch watching a Paul Simon concert while we wait. Tick, tick, tick….
