Saturday![]() Slight Chc Snow Hi 35°F |
They’re predicting 8-10 inches of new snow tonight, starting sometime this afternoon.
Yay.
It’s likely that YNG will be canceled, which is actually NOT something I want, despite that I’m blah about going. If we cancel, we’ll have to make those hours up, and I’d just as soon stay on schedule.
I’ve sent off another employment packet to another little school in the neighborhood. I know for sure that this packet will be looked at; I tried to send it electronically, but it seems the folks on the other end couldn’t open the attachments and emailed me to ask that I send them another way (regardless of what the cute ads say, it seems that Macs and PCs don’t always play well together. Damned Windows!). I ended up faxing the papers from TCC’s fax machine last night and was chuckling to myself as I walked out after my duty to find two of my colleagues huddled over the fax, sending their credentials to colleges in California. Just Wednesday, I had dinner with a graduate school classmate who’s leaving New England for Florida. She’s decided that she needs a change of scenery, and wants to look at palm trees instead of pine trees for a while.
I’m trying to decide if I envy them their ability to just pick up and start fresh somewhere else. I’m pretty sure it’s just a consequence of my doldrums, but the shine is definitely off of New England right now, and the thought of a new scene outside my bedroom window doesn’t seem like such a bad one. I really do love my home, though - I know that, even though I’m not particularly feeling that love at the moment - and I’ve done this winter blues thing often enough to know that I’ve just got to power through it.
Thanks for putting up with me while I bitch about it, though. Hopefully, I’ll have something new for you soon.

Were you sending as a pdf?
There’s room in Florida for you and your family!
Bitch away, sweetie.
Let’s face it, bitching about the weather is part of being a New Englander. We bitch and we stay…it’s mandatory for us. Just wait, we’ll be bitching about how dirty and rainy spring is or how hot the summer is… It’s us and it’s beautiful.
Yeah, we bitch and then we say “Hey, notice how much lighter it is a six pm?” Yeah, daylight is coming, twilight is happening later every day.
I hope YNG happened anyway. I was out of my dojo for a month with junky crappy stuff. Reconnecting is hard. Going back and being there was teriffic. I hope YNG is the same for you. Reconnecting when we sometimes don’t want to is the whole point.
Hope the storm didn’t hit you too hard. I was too far North this time around, we got nothin’ but that’s ok, we’ve got over 140 inches… bitch bitch complain and grumble… I like how Xena said it.
