A Note to Punkin’ Pie
March 15, 2008 by mrschili
Dear Precious Daughter,
If you’re going to barge through a closed door into your parents’ bedroom on a Saturday morning, you’re just going to have to live with what you might see on the other side. Your parents still love each other very much, and you may want to consider being a bit more respectful of closed doors.
Love,
Mom
I don’t think we’ve laughed so hard in a long time!
photo credit (no, that’s not us, but that’s essentially the view she got!)

LMAO! Poor Punkin Pie may never be the same… That is too funny!
Start shelling out the bucks for therapy! LOL Too funny! Hey, what else is there to do in this snow?
We have 3 kids and each one of them witnessed something very similar at different times. They don’t seem to be overly scarred unless you count the fact that one of them is becoming a lawyer.
She probably plans to sue us for mental anguish.
Oh, ouch!
Let’s hope she passes that lesson down the line so her sister doesn’t have to learn it on her own.
I’m dreading the day this happens to us.
But still smiling at the fact that you got start your weekend with some action
So, um, am I the only one having spatial objections to the image? That can’t be a genuine photo.
Always look on the bright side of life: You got some.
Was that too much?
at least you know way more about what she saw then she does. but wait a few years — then she’ll be FREAKING out when she figures out what it was she saw this morning…..
So you were on top?
Kids need to learn these facts of life! It does kinda kill the moment though, for the parents.
Hope Mrs Chili snr is ok.
Whoops!
Yeah, we keep meaning to get a lock on our bedroom door ourselves. It’s only a matter of time before our kids get a similar show.
Whoo boy - thanks for the giggle. Yeah, um we got a lock on the door and I am very pleased with its functioning, as all we’ve had to deal with thus far is a plaintive, “Why’s the door locked? Mom? Dad?”
I hope your MIL is ok - sending good and healing vibes.
That brought back horrible memories of when I walked in on my parents.
/runs screaming from the blog….
Bwahahaha
You know what you’re getting for Mother’s Day, don’t you?
A deadbolt for the bedroom door.
This was so funny.
Isn’t this a hoot? The thing is, we bought two doorknobs for the new bedroom/bathroom suite; one has a lock and the other doesn’t. Mr. Chili put the lockable knob on the bathroom door, but rethought that plan yesterday. “If we need absolute privacy in the bathroom,” he said, “we can always lock the bedroom door.”
I concur.
The sounds emanating from the room didn’t warn her away?
Or have you two mastered the art of silent boot-knockin’?
What’s the latest on the health of the Matriarchal Chili? Is she ok? Cookiemaker, Little Man, and I are sending our best her way.
LOL!
