March 20th

The calendar says it’s spring.
My tree, however, is not convinced, and neither am I….
Oh, how I wish my world looked more like this…
In other news, the health club called today to say that all fitness classes have been canceled for Sunday morning, which means I get to spend ALL of Easter with my family. This also means that the girls don’t have to wait until I get home to do their egg hunt. Knowing there are eggs hiding around the house and having to wait until almost 11 for Mommy to come home so she can watch them hunt is torturous to the poor babies. The delay, however, gives Daddy more time to think up and draw his clues, so I have to remind him to get on that sooner rather than later. I suppose I can’t make everyone happy, right?
May today be a new beginning for you; a breath of fresh air filled with the promise of renewal.

When I lived in the north I thought the first day of spring was way to early.
Now I think it’s way to late.
I’m happy to report my world looks like photo #2… yours will soon!
No complaining about the bugs or the heat with 120% humidity that is quickly approaching! Let’s start talking about my plans for your yard!
We’re just back from visiting friends down South and I’ve got a tan! The flowering trees are blooming and the friends had fresh daffodils in every room of the house. I am so ready for our New England Spring to arrive.
Holy crap. I didn’t realize it was Spring.
Do you really want global warming to do that?
Seriously, I know you are tired of winter, but, then, I had the impression you were tired of it the day Jack Frost first visited a few months ago!
slow panic and i live close to each other. i am happy to confirm that photo #2 looks very like where we are. but the pollen is making our cars yellow, and the zyrtec is being passed like candy.
Panic, you’re giving me hope. Send some of that weather my way, wouldja?
Auntie, you know I don’t bitch about the heat; I save all my bitching for the cold.
Laurie, I’d kill for a little color in my world. All I’ve got is grey and white and dark, wet brown.
Rich, it sneaks up on ya, doesn’t it? Especially when, you know, it’s only 40 degrees outside…
Yeah, Gerry, I was griping at the start of winter. Hang on a sec… here’s my first official winter gripe of this winter season…
Liv, you remind me about how our cars turn a yellowish green every spring. I’m fortunate to not suffer allergies, but I do end up obsessively cleaning my car for several months out of the year…
If that’s the scenery you want, I wish you were here. The Bradford pears, the Japanese magnolias, the plums and the dogwoods are all in full bloom. And consequently, the cars are all covered in pollen. But it sure is pretty (the trees, not the cars).
Oh, I’d forgotten that four week long pollen season. It happens every year, you’d think I’d count that in to the Spring happiness.
I’ll take drugs for that. New England, it’ll either knock the snot out of you or fill you up with it! What a motto.
I’m taking the back pack blower out on Saturday to blow 1 inch of sand off of our lawn back into the road. Icy as it was this past winter, the town spread too many square inches per foot of that stuff. I’m just going to blow it back to them to harvest with the street sweeper clean up. I’ve lusted after the yard sweeper attachments but I think the blower could move small water buffalos so should move the sand ok.
I’ll get mine up soon- it’s still wintry feeling here, so not much to show since the last pic, although the snow is gone at long last.
