Notice the extra “F” in the title? That’s because you’re getting a two-fer; today is both a floral and a foliage Friday here at Chez Chili.
First, the foliage (Goddess, but I love alliteration!). This is a shot of the “centerpiece” hall at Local U. If you were to buy a box of note cards from the university bookshop, this would be the picture on the card at the top. The building I work in is directly next door (and, in my opinion, is a bit more handsome than this one, but no one consulted me when making the “important buildings” decisions), so I see this hall as I’m walking to work from the parking lot. I also get to hear the clock chime the hour and half hour, and I get to hear the carillon when it goes off (once at 11:30 – I think it may go again at 4:30, but don’t quote me on that). I’m going to try to remember to bring my camera to work with me and document the changes in the trees as the season progresses – watch this space…
Here’s another flower picture that I took in Quaint Coastal City when the TwoBlueDays were visiting. Even though daisies are pretty common around here all summer long, it seems to me that they really come into their glory as autumn approaches. Maybe it’s because they last longer than the showier flowers that grow around them, so their almost arrogant yellow makes a more lasting impression than the delicate but fleeting pinks and reds. Regardless, I like these flowers, and I liked this image just as it came out of the camera – no tinkering needed.
Happy Friday, Everyone!

Man, just thinking about what it looks like when the colors change makes my heart go all a-twitter! I’m a big fan of fall, and I’ve got it in my bones to have it here already. I can’t wait to see those pictures of the change!
Happy Friday!!
Ahoy! It be slippin’ me mind. ‘Tis Talk Like a Pirate Day, that it be. So, I must make corrections to my. above. statement, arr.
Glory shines on those who view the changin’ of the colors, true. It be deep in me bones to have it happening in me own landscape, gods permittin’. Be hasty wit’ th’ pictures, lass, and I be ever grateful to ye.
Joyous Friday to ye all!
That sure is a purty yeller flower, with the little strawberry strawflowers adding a nice touch of red in the back.
What a nice day that was.
[...] swear, y’all, Fridays are turning into alliteration day, right Mrs. Chili? My FFFriday post is [...]
I am SO jealous–no lovely fall foliage here–hell, we don’t even have “fall” per se. One of these days, I’m going to take a fall foliage viewing trip, I swear…
Beautiful! I like both of your photos. It will be nice to see those leaves change if you do continue to document the clock tower scene.
Love that black eye-susan shot!! Please do keep shooting pics of the campus – there are some LOVELY trees there.
Local U is so photogenic! It’s never looked bad at any season!
Great photos! Local U is a picturesque. I love a carillon.
Happy Friday.
