I might tweak the “at a certain age women should” to “at a certain WEIGHT women should…”

I don’t care what age you are, if you’re built like Linda Hamilton circa “T2″ then be proud and show it off.

On the flipside, I also don’t care what age you are, if you’re built like Roseanne Barr then put on a lead mumu!

And, yes, the same rule applies to men.

I am inspired to read Frankenstein- you’ve mentioned it several times and I think I will have a go.

You know, I have never read Frankenstein. I think I ought to. Perhaps I shall put that on my reading list for Thanksgiving break.

Whenever I see one of those TV documentaries, or a news story, about men who are husbands and fathers doing dangerous things as a “hobby,” I wonder if they gave any thought at all to their families’ emotional and financial well-being. I remember specifically one Everest expedition where several died and a physician (Pick Withers) almost lost his life, but did lose his fingers. (And there was that heart-rending phone call from a dying man to his pregnant wife). There are the sailors, the baloonists, etc.

It’s not that I’m uninspired by achievements, its just that I think that family trumps hobby. None of these guys is going to climb Everest for the first time, and the “records” they shoot for seem more and more to be meaningless “niche” sorts of things. Ah, well.

Ok, ok, I’m going to HAVE to read “Frankenstein” again. I know I read it somewhere along the line but don’t remember it having any kind of impact on me. But it had such an impact on you I feel compelled to give it another go. I probably raced through it for a class so this time I’ll pay better attention.
