Today marks the winter solstice, where day is shortest, night is longest, and the cycle begins again.
It seems – to me, anyway – that if ever there were a day set aside for still and quiet, for contemplation and compassion, and for taking stock, today would be it.

Here’s the picture I asked Mr. Chili to take yesterday of the snowfall we had between Friday and Saturday. Yep. Nine inches.
