I was running errands at 11:30 this morning, so I listened to the final launch of the Shuttle program on NPR from my car.
When the announcer said that the vehicle had cleared the pad – “We have liftoff!” – I burst into tears. I have no idea why. I’m welling up even as I write this.
Godspeed, Astronauts. May this last trip bring you safely home again.
