Quick Hit: F**kin’ COLD

Mr. Chili is watching the Weather Channel, and they just posted a warning about dangerous wind chills – including the words “hypothermia or death.”  DEATH, People!  That’s just wrong.

You know what else is wrong?  This:

The chance of snow goes up every time I look at it; by the time we get to Tuesday, I’m sure they’ll be telling us to get ready for another (what they so blithely call) “major snow event.”

  1. I know what you mean… it is going to barely get above 60 degrees all week. FREEZING!

  2. So, you have all this concern for other folks, and you say so all the time, but here you are whining about a little cold weather. You should give some thought to the folks in Mongolia. I see they are reporting -17 in Ulan Bator right now, up from a temp of -29 I saw earlier today, for the coming week the predicted lows are: -31; -29; -27; -27; -27; and -21. Yes, yes, I see a warming trend there, so maybe they aren’t as chilly as they could be. I’m sure they are planning picnics on Saturday, when the high is predicted to be 5, the first above-zero temp shown for the week.

    Just sayin’.

  3. Oregon Sunshine

The snow and ice that was supposed to hit us this week has all disappeared off the weather front. Of course, we will be systematically warming up from now until next October, when it chooses to cool off again, maybe. With that said, we will still experience freezing overnight temps for the next few weeks. But, it will now be reaching the low 50s here most days this week.

I ran around all weekend prepping for another cold snap/ ice storm. Now, I get to go out and pull horse blankets and not worry about frozen pipes. All that work for nothin’. *sigh*

  4. I think the death warnings are aimed at the idiots who fail to prepare for this kind of brutal cold; there are ALWAYS those kids and teens and adults who underdress for the temps and end up creating situations from which they have to recover. I am not a big fan of the eyeball searing, nosehair frying cold, but at least I know how to dress for it!

Trying to do some incantations that dumps this white crap out to sea…

  5. It was -45 with the wind chill today. It never sounds real to me… but then when I’m out in it–holy moly!!!

Here’s some blog love to warm you up! xo
    blog love…
