It is on all of us to remember, the ones that were there are old. We are the ones to carry that are called to carry their stories, their memories, and their lives. The whole world changed for them in a matter of minutes and almost every survivor went on to fight other battles. Peace, and rest in peace, to each of them.

  2. The whole world changed with the attack on Pearl Harbor. I’ve been thinking lately that the change was permanent, and that perhaps Pearl Harbor was the seminal event of the 20th Century, and that’s its repercussions still pretty much dictate what the world is like.

I saw on ABC News that the Pearl Harbor Survivors’ Club is disbanding because there are too few of them left to carry it on.
