Nearly Wordless Wednesday

I had to come home early from work today because I’d gotten myself so worked up over the vile and ugly and hateful and evil going on in the news.  I found myself unable to speak and fighting back tears.

Then this happened, and I feel a little less angry and afraid.

Thank you, Mr. President, for giving me a little bit of hope on what was an otherwise dark day.

I have to admit I don’t agree with alot President Obama puts out there but this has earned some of my respect. The fact that this “issue” has gotten so political infuriates me. Individual liberty and freedom shouldn’t even have to be debated. It’s the core values the Constitution was written to protect and since all politicians swear to protect the Constitution they should all be on the same page. Politicians need to so something novel and really LEAD but they are all too concerned with keeping thier jobs instead of doing the right thing.

  2. Sean, I don’t disagree. I’ve been horrified, frankly, by how much attention has been paid to issues that I thought had been settled already. There are no jobs to be created and no economies to be shored up by arguing about gay marriage and contraception. Politics has become mean-spirited, particularly at the hands of the so-called conservatives, and I’ve about had enough of it.
