I noticed, after Mr. Mandela died, that some thought that, in fairness (to those who had opposed him in life, I suppose), that the violent freedom-fighter part of his life should not be glossed over. For a different reason, I agree. His people were being oppressed, violently. If a man says “You are killing my people, don’t get too comfy in your homes, beds, and in public, until you stop,” I can hardly fault him, and, in the case of some, like Mr. Mandela, it makes him bigger in my eyes, not lesser. Don’t rest too easy, oppressors, what goes around comes around.
